WQHT (Hot 97)/New York Landlord Outlaws Posses

The New York Post and Daily News are reporting that the New York District Council of Carpenters, which owns the SoHo building housing Hot 97, sent a stern letter to the station outlining new visitor guidelines in the wake of what the Daily News is calling "last week's shoot-'em-up between 50 Cent and The Game's crews."
The letter stipulates that visiting artists will be allowed to bring only one person into the radio station with them, and that the landlord needs to be informed of all visitors one week in advance, so it can notify police, hire extra security or rent a metal detector if necessary. "We are deeply concerned about the safety of our tenants and their employees," said union lawyer Brian O'Dwyer in legal papers. "We've received numerous complaints from other tenants that they fear for their safety. This [the 50 Cent] event caused the landlord, the tenants in the building and their employees and visitors to be exposed to extreme risk or personal injury or death or property damage," he added.
According to the Daily News, "Declaring Hot 97 in violation of its lease, the union gave the radio station until Friday to agree to the new rules, including the anti-posse clause."
Embattled Hot 97 is already under fire from various citizens' groups in the wake of the "Tsunami Song" incident and the Feb. 28 shooting outside the station.
